Aline Alagem’s third solo exhibition is now showing at the Artstation Gallery.
Closing date: 15.3.14

The core of  Alagem’s exhibition is the image. Alagem seeks to clarify its validity and role, as an outcome of an intensive research.

Alagem’s works reveal peaks of beauty and passion and examine the characteristics of the emotional ecstasy it evokes in the viewers.

The body is so perfect that it becomes a pallet of skin and hair, as if it was two dimensional. The natural and wild is handled to the extreme, transforming the image into a landscape, the plants and living things into a wallpaper, creating a compressed image which expresses illusion and manipulated passion.

In her works, Alagem constantly tries to trace the components of the image, questing the validation of the passion catharsis. She confronts the viewers with oversized condensed images both in technique and color. Such radicalization versus the realistic choice of subjects and images implies that this exhibition is not only an intellectual manifest but a burning conflict that concerns Alagem.

23Aline Alagem is a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Prep’art Ecole Preparatoire in Paris, as well as student exchange program at SVA New York and residency at Cite des Arts International Paris.

Alagem presented solo exhibitions in Braverman Gallery and Ferrate gallery, group exhibitions in leading local galleries as well as in Art Basel Miami, Artissima Art Fair and Pulse New York. Winner of the Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts award.
