It didn’t take too much time for the social justice protest that took over the country to get to the art galleries. If you pass by Chelouche Gallery at night and the gallery is closed (Like I did) it will be hard to avoid this installation presented in the gallery’s yard. The installation is composed of dozens of mockups of the Akirov Towers (one of the most expensive apartment buildings in Tel Aviv) made of Chinese restaurant menus. This installation is the work of 6 architects known as TEAM ETC. Last summer during the protest for social justice TEAM ETC. used these mockups as a way to demonstrate the gap between the cheap menus and the prestigious buildings. The installation is a part of CITYISM – an exhibition dealing with Urbanism on the 2nd floor of the gallery.
